GT Radial Expands in Taiwan: A Closer Look at Their Global Operations

GT Radial, a prominent name among the top 10 tire brands worldwide, made a significant move into the Taiwanese market earlier this year in February. Since then, the brand has been diligently establishing a comprehensive service network across Taiwan. Recently, GT Radial orchestrated a notable visit for over 20 leading tire service providers from Taiwan to its tire manufacturing facility in Jakarta, Indonesia. This included a tour of Asia’s largest and the world’s second-largest open-air tire R&D and testing center.

The visit provided participants with an in-depth view of GT Radial’s meticulous and complex tire production process. Attendees were also able to assess the exceptional performance of GT Radial tires under various road conditions.

GT Radial's re-entry into Taiwan comes after a strategic hiatus of several years. Following over a decade of careful evaluation, the company appointed Glemos as its general agent in August 2023 to spearhead its return to the Taiwanese market. With a mission to offer "top-quality tires at affordable prices," GT Radial aims to deliver high-value tires to Taiwanese consumers while promoting proper tire usage to enhance road safety.

Glemos CEO Cai Shisheng noted that while GT Radial may not be widely recognized in Taiwan, it remains a leading global brand with a strong track record in international events. The goal of the recent visit was to allow experienced tire service sales professionals from Taiwan to experience firsthand the superior handling, stability, comfort, and performance of GT Radial tires in various conditions, including high speeds, wet and snowy roads, braking, cornering, and noise levels.

Lin Shijie, Taiwan Sales General Manager for GT Radial, emphasized the importance of this visit for the Giti Tire Group. Andy Wu, the third-generation heir and International Sales Director of the Giti Tire Group, personally accompanied the delegation, underscoring the significance of this engagement. The experience provided Taiwan's tire service providers with valuable insights into GT Radial's competitive edge on the global stage.
